How We Source Recipes for the Worcester Community Fridges Library

Every recipe published in our library has been cooked by at least three people in three different kitchens. Our test cooks span beginner, intermediate, and experienced ranges, because a recipe should land for the audience that needs it, not just the one who wrote it.

We start with a brief: who is this dish for, what should it taste like, and what is the simplest path to that result. The first round is a development pass with the recipe writer. We then run it through home test kitchens and ask for honest feedback in plain language. The notes that come back are how the recipe gets sharper.

Only after every step is timed, every ingredient is sized to a household pack, and every cooking cue is verified does the recipe go up on the site. We also revisit recipes at least once a year to make sure they still hold up. Cooking changes. Our library should change with it.
